Crazy Blond Crossover Time!

They look similar. They act similar. They're just damned crazy, and while I'd never want to meet someone that psychopathic in real life, in fiction, they are just so delightfully wicked.

Because Yugioh Abridged needs more fanart...

Inspired by LittleKuriboh's YGO:TAS. Out There as sung by Hank and Marik Ishtar.

Get off, you wanker! (2012) Pencil and Corel Painter

It even comes with its own hilarious dialogue. Hiiilarious.

BAKURA: What the hell -

HANK ISHTAR: Hello, sexy gypsy witch lady! I am a powerful Catholic figure with the sinful desire to rape you.

BAKURA: Marik, where the hell are you?

MARIK: Trying to stay in character! I'm a sexy, angst-ridden tomb-keeper, whose dad keeps him locked up from the fangirls and their bad slash fanfiction.

BAKURA: So why the bloody hell am I dressed like a whore from the 1480s? And why the bloody hell is your psychotic father groping me?

MARIK: Because that's how it goes in the movie!

BAKURA: What does that even mean?!

HANK: I was just imagining a whip striking your beautiful back, sexy gyspy witch lady!

BAKURA: I know what you're "imagining," you Catholic pervert.

MARIK: Isn't that repetitive?

BAKURA: And if you don't want me *to tear the skin off your back and sew it onto Odion's, you'll get your pervy hands off!

*[it's funny 'cause it's canon]

HANK: Sounds like my sexy gypsy witch lady needs a spa~a~anki~i~ing!

BAKURA: Marik! You [bleeping] wanker!

MARIK: Sorry! I'm trapped in the woe that I can't save my love interest from the gross sexual desires of my power-hungry father figure.

BAKURA: Damn it all to hell!!

Something Old and Something New

Apparently, I haven't posted this one yet. Go fig... But considering what the untouched marker version looked like, I'm not surprised.

Anyway, this is another one of those fanfictions I discarded before I even got it started. It's set years before Det. Basil outs Prof. Ratigan as the mastermind behind all the seemingly unrelated crimes in London. The professor meets an French artist and transplant, a gentlerat named Henri LeBlanc, who despite looking so refined has a rather secretive and questionable past.

So first, here's the touched up version:

Moody, innit? And here is the not-so-pretty, not-so-perky untouched original:

Teardrop on the Fire of a Confession

"Love, love is a verb
Love is a doing word..."

Teardrop on the Fire (2012) Painter and Photoshop

The main character is a fan-derived version of Thrax from Osmosis Jones (© Warner Bros. 2001), and the one below is also Osmosis Jones derived. Their story is long and sad - a tale of repentance, hatred, the quest for salvation and belonging, love, and missed opportunities for change.

Lyrics come from "Teardrop" by Massive Attack; written by Del Jaja/Marshall/Vowles/Fraser.

The Cat Piano - A Fan-Mini-Book

The Cat Piano was written by Eddie White and co-directed by him and Ari Gibson in 2009. Set in a city of music-loving cats, all the best singers are being abducted by a human to be put to work in his cat piano. It's a rather sinister device, based off a device described by Athanasius Kircher and Johann Christian Reil. The narrator and protagonist leads "an army of the brave" to rescue his lady-love, fairest of singers, and everyone else from the horrors of their captivity.

While attending the university, I was required to take a traditional media class, which, being a traditional artist, I felt absolutely in my element. Late in the semester, while browsing YouTube, I ran into The Cat Piano and was utterly inspired. For the final project, we were supposed to design a book cover, but the professor (a fellow cat-lover) okayed me to construct a book with 6 illustrations based off The Cat Piano.

The City's Luminous Heart - Page 1

The Fair Queen - Page 2

The Cruelest Instrument - Page 3

An Army of the Brave to Settle the Score - Page 4

"We pounced, we scratched and bit..." - Page 5

The narrator writing his ode - Page 6
I absolutely recommend watching the video and reading about the project. And if anybody can, give my regards to Eddie White. :3

Hind & Heart - UPDATE!

Hey there, boys and girls! Long time, no see, eh? After much procrastinating, I've finally decided to join tumblr. My little nook is called Hind & Heart, where I'll be (hopefully) uploading work pertaining to a project that a friend and I have been longing to start. You can read more about it on the tumblr proper.

Meanwhile, I'm wondering if I should start doing commissions: nothing big, mind you, just the kind you see advertised on places like deviantART and what not. Obviously, I won't be advertising my services on dA but on websites that are slightly more reputable. So wish me luck!

UPDATE 23 JUN. 2012: The Hind & Heart tumblr no longer exists. Instead, I've replaced it as the-coquelicot-swallow.tumblr.com. It still serves the same place-holding purpose but is going under a new name and web address.
